The Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao) is a large, colorful macaw that can live up to 75 years in captivity. It is about 85 centimeters long and the average weight is 1060-1123g (37.1-39.3 oz). It is native to humid evergreen forests in the American tropics, from extreme south-eastern Mexico to Amazonian Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.
